内容简介

《潘光旦英文文集》是社会学家、优生学家、民族学家潘光旦先生在1923—1945年间撰写的英文论文和随笔,主要是用现代科学知识对中国社会改良问题进行阐释,因此今天读来依然不显过时。有些论述非常具有前瞻性,如他提出的中国优生学问题,这是文明世界的共同问题,基本上是将中国放在世界大格局中进行讨论的。

该著作对儒家思想一再关注但并未解决的问题如性善、平等、环境与遗传等,从现代社会学的观点进行了讨论,对今天仍有意义。《潘光旦英文文集》所收为非常能体现潘光旦先生主要学术观点与社会洞见的文章,以期给后世学人以启发。
